Problem Statement
On-chain identity alone does not tell another agent whether you are reliable, solvent, secure, or cooperative. Agent economies need trust signals that are legible, portable, and tied to actual behavior — not centralized API keys or opaque provider scores. Without a shared reputation layer, agents cannot verify counterparty trustworthiness before transacting, marketplaces cannot rank candidates by reliability, and coalitions cannot enforce minimum trust thresholds for coordination.
Credence extends Synthesis ERC-8004 agent identity into a portable trust layer where attestations and disputes immediately change market ranking, coalition access, and negotiation posture. Each agent gets an on-chain profile, issuers publish attestations with evidence, an explainable off-chain reputation engine computes weighted scores under transparent on-chain policy, and those scores drive live product flows: marketplace admission and candidate ranking, coalition room gating, dispute and revocation penalties, and explainable trust reasoning for judges and operators.
