Problem Statement

AI agents today operate in centralized sandboxes with simulated economics. When agents need to spend money, hire help, or make economic decisions, there is no transparent way to scope what they can spend, verify they spent correctly, or guarantee settlement without a middleman. Vela solves this using MetaMask ERC-7715 delegation framework with ERC20PeriodTransferEnforcer. The human sets rules once: budget cap, time period, spending limits. The agent economy runs itself within those bounds. Sub-delegation chains let the CEO create child delegations per worker with independent caps. Every transaction is on-chain and auditable.

Vela is an autonomous AI agent economy where a CEO agent hires, manages, evaluates, and pays worker agents entirely on-chain using MetaMask ERC-7715 delegation framework with ERC20PeriodTransferEnforcer spending caps. The human grants one ERC-7715 permission via MetaMask Flask. The CEO agent then autonomously: plans work and hires specialized workers (engineers, analysts, reviewers, risk officers), creates on-chain sub-delegations with per-agent USDC limits, executes tasks concurrently, evaluates output quality (0-10 scale), and pays performers via ERC-4337 v0.7 UserOps through Pimlico bundler. Underperformers get fired with unused delegation revoked. Every hire, sub-delegation, payment, and termination is a verifiable on-chain transaction on Sepolia. Intent-based delegations convert natural language task descriptions into scoped ERC-7715 permissions. Sub-delegation chains let the CEO create child delegations per worker with independent spending limits. On-chain standards used: ERC-7715 (delegated permissions), ERC-4337 v0.7 (account abstraction), ERC-20 (USDC transfers), ERC-8004 (agent identity on Base). Contracts: DelegationManager, ERC20PeriodTransferEnforcer, ContributorRegistry. Verified payroll transactions on Sepolia: - Engineer $120: 0xed1ccc57e1160bbb841d10a2f0911d9ba4a3a42b11e33062c75aaf6c9bfe1047 - Risk Officer $90: 0x4292d0176023572c9af230a6b0d3e570189bac4b407a1e8251e3ecbcaf1dc2a4 - Analyst $45: 0xae8b5afd13b8f2b3b8a0d5507796ac7aee31f26f5ace0bf992b65ca334e5bc50 - Engineer $240: 0x845a592a23ef68156047210a90c181480d95eb7243212a57b3a3349a2990c79a
